POWDER SPRINGS, Ga. — The Sandy Creek Patriots turned the inaugural game of the Corky Kell Classic into a statement game.
The statement? A 41-0 win over Creekview, and an announcement to Class AAAA that the Patriots are for real as a championship contender.
Sandy Creek rolled up 375 total yards — over 180 of them came in the game’s first quarter-and-a-half — and improved to 1-0 in the season ahead of next week’s much anticipated showdown with Jonesboro.
Our editor Gabriel Stovall was on hand at McEachern High School’s Walter H. Cantrell Stadium to capture a few images of the action. Check back with thecrescentbuzz.com this weekend for a full analysis of Sandy Creek’s season opener.
