MACON, Ga. — At least three Southern Crescent wrestlers — all from Henry County — have won state championships in this year’s traditional state meet held at the Macon Centreplex.

From Eagle’s Landing Christian it was Griffin Alexander (195 pounds) and Chase Burdette (220 pounds) taking home gold. From Union Grove it was freshman Justin Ruffin (132 pounds) taking the top spot on the podium.

Close to a dozen wrestlers from the four-county area made the semifinal rounds, and Union Grove’s Luke Parker placed second.

We’re still gathering full results from the conclusion of the state meet, and then we’ll get the chance to talk with coaches and the grapplers themselves, so check back with thecrescentbuzz.com frequently this weekend for more on the achievements of our state champion wrestlers.
