Lovejoy-Tucker football game postponed due to COVID-19

LOVEJOY, Ga. — That hotly anticipated Region 4-AAAAAA matchup between No. 4 Lovejoy (6-0, 1-0) and Tucker (2-1, 1-0) will have to wait.

Originally scheduled for tonight at 7 p.m. at Adams Stadium, Lovejoy offensive coordinator Derrick Smith confirmed from head coach Edgar Carson that the game will be postponed due to a player from Tucker having tested positive with COVID-19.

Although both teams have a bye week slated for next week, Smith said neither side has agreed upon a reschedule date for the game. With it being a region contest, it’s more than likely a game that won’t be cancelled.

We’ll bring more updates as they come.
